Our Farming Methods

At Humble Farm, we believe that we have a responsibility to nurture the land, animals, and people that God has placed in our lives through natural and regenerative methods. By using the intensive rotational grazing techniques taught by Joel Salatin, we are improving the land by creating healthy topsoil that has been eroded by generations of conventional farming and ranching practices. Our cattle spend their entire lives grazing on prairie grasses, free of antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals,  which helps to create superior genetics and naturally leaner meat. The chickens, ducks, and geese follow the cattle, spreading their manure and controlling the fly population by eating the nutritious larvae. They are also fed a non-soy, non-GMO, locally milled premium feed which produces rich and nutrient dense eggs.

By utilizing permaculture farming methods, we are able to incorporate our stewardship philosophy into fruit and vegetable production. Chickens gently till the garden while foraging for bugs which means we don't need to use mechanical rototillers that destroy beneficial microorganisms living beneath the surface. We also use our chickens to turn and breakdown organic food scraps and discarded garden plants to create beautiful compost to spread around the garden. God's creation was perfectly designed to work together for the benefit of the land, animals, and His people. He has called us to be good stewards of that which we have been entrusted. Our family has been entrusted with Humble Farm and it is our mission to bring glory to our creator by faithfully tending to His creation.

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
